I understand the strong pull to live in the mountains. In 2003, my family and I made our dream of moving to the mountains of Colorado a reality. Coming from Chicago, there could not be a greater disparity of locations and lifestyle. We continue to enjoy all that Summit County has to offer, including four world-class ski resorts, miles of hiking and biking trails, temperate summers with plenty of festivals, and great people.
My clients appreciate my background in law. I am a licensed attorney and practiced commercial litigation at Foley & Lardner in Chicago before shifting my business to real estate. While I don't practice law anymore, I find that I perceive issues a bit differently, especially with my background in litigation. My legal training and experience truly help me get deals closed the right way.
I'm also a real estate investor, experienced in generating income and creating wealth through real estate. I will listen to your needs and be honest and upfront with you about whether Summit County is the right place for you. You never need to worry that I'm just trying to sell you something. I value long-term client relationships and maintaining an impeccable reputation.
The Summit County real estate market saw a surge in activity after the Covid-19 pandemic and tremendous appreciation. Because Summit County is a resort market, many new transplants have moved here to telecommute and enjoy the mountain lifestyle. Others don't live here full time, and they rent their properties on a short- or long-term basis when they aren't using them. I work with many property managers (see my list) who can help you estimate the potential rental income for a property.
My goals are to help you find or sell your dream home in the shortest amount of time, to put you in the strongest negotiating position possible, and to make buying or selling real estate an enjoyable experience without unwanted surprises.
Meeting new people and helping them make their dreams come true is why I enjoy my work. I especially love that I have helped my clients build substantial equity in real estate since 2003. If you want to relax and enjoy the mountains with your family — and pass along a legacy of memories and real estate — I look forward to meeting you.
When I'm not working, you'll find me skiing, road cycling, playing tennis and golf, hiking, paddle boarding, exploring Colorado, traveling, or cooking.

Amy was instrumental in the successful purchase of my Summit County condo. She was very patient and realistic through an extended searching phase, providing the level of information I needed and going out of her way to pre-screen properties when I couldn't be there myself. When the right property came along she was key in negotiating a quick contract acceptance in the midst of a competitive environment.
Amy Nakos assisted us with the purchase of our home in Blue River/Breckenridge in 2013. We have bought and sold 6 homes and Amy is by far the best real estate agent we have ever worked with. She is professional, knowledgeable, and extremely hard working for her clients.
We found Amy to be a consummate professional. She has high integrity, a consultative approach and exceptional follow-through. She quickly understood our needs and guided us through a changing real estate market.
I can't say enough about the service that Amy provides. She is very professional, ethical and has an in-depth knowledge and great feel for the Summit County real estate market. This proved invaluable in my situation since I was living outside of Colorado when I listed my property.
